EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:

Founding Partner, CaseyDorin Internet Productions
Washington, DC, April 1999 to Present

CaseyDorin Internet Productions was launched in 1999 by myself and my business partner, Jeremy Dorin. Our goal is to provide Internet consulting and web development services to Democratic candidates, office holders, PACs, and other organizations. Our first clients were the Senate campaigns of Senator Edward Kennedy in Massachusetts and Hillary Clinton in New York.

Technology Advisor, Democratic Technology and Communications Committee, United States Senate
Washington, DC April 1995 to April 2000

Following the 1994 elections, the Senate Democratic leadership created the Technology and Communications Committee under the Chairmanship of Senator Jay Rockefeller in order to help Democrats do a better job in getting their message out. I was hired to help other Senate Democrats utilize the Internet and other digital technologies as a communications medium. Two months after I began there were 28 Senators on the World Wide Web, 24 of them were Democrats. I also assist Senators in arranging "virtual town meetings" and other technology related events.

Technology Policy Advisor, Senator Edward M. Kennedy
Washington, DC March 1992 to April 1995

In an effort to develop electronic access to a Senate office, I conceived and implemented a system by which Senator Kennedy's office provides information to constituents via computer networks. Constituents who access these materials on a network of computer bulletin boards in Massachusetts and via the Internet have the ability to offer feedback to the Senator on issues of concern to them. I played an active role with the ACE group (Americans Communicating Electronically) and closely monitored technology related legislation in Congress, particularly regarding education technology, and the NPR and NII initiatives.

Account Coordinator, The Hannaford Company, Public Relations & Public Affairs
Washington, DC April 1989 to January 1992

Major clients: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The Republic of China on Taiwan Responsibilities on behalf of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia included preparing press lists for large mailings, writing releases for media and public distribution, monitoring media coverage and handling special projects as needed. I coordinated media, community relations and protocol events associated with a 100,000 square-foot cultural exhibition, Saudi Arabia Yesterday and Today, which toured six U.S. cities in 1989-90 and was seen by more than one million people. On behalf of the ROC, I have lobbied the Senate in support of Taiwan's bid for membership in the GATT, monitored U.S. and foreign press for stories concerning Chinese affairs and edited a weekly news summary. Other duties included arranging media calls, writing speeches for ROC representatives and preparing press kits for special projects such as Taiwan's "Buy American" missions.

Researcher, The Washington Service Bureau
Washington, DC November 1987 to April 1989

As a researcher in the Hill and Regulatory Department at the Washington Service Bureau, I researched, located and obtained documents at various federal agencies, the courts and on Capitol Hill. Duties on the Hill included performing legislative watches, compiling legislative histories and reporting on hearing testimonies. Conducting legal research at the Supreme Court and all other area courts, and obtaining information from federal departments and agencies through utilization of public reference rooms and FOIA requests were also essential duties in this position.

INTERNET POLITICS:

Web Team, Democratic National Convention
Chicago, IL, August 1996

The 1996 national party conventions were the first political conventions to develop a presence on the Internet for delivering the sights, sounds and proceedings to netizens in cyberspace. I was a member of the teamin Chicago that developed and maintained the home page for the Democratic Convention. I contributed to the development of the look and feel of the site, and arranged and moderated real-time online chats with Democratic officeholders, candidates, and others at the Convention.

Creator and Webmaster, CapWeb: A Guide to the U.S. Congress
Washington, DC August 1995 to Present

In August of 1995 I began development of an "unofficial" guide to Congress on the World Wide Web called CapWeb. At the time Sen. Kennedy and the Library of Congress provided the only Legislative Branch presence that existed on the web, and so I set out to create a resource that would help provide information about every member of Congress, including contact information and committee assignments, and include links to Legislative Branch and other related resources on the Internet. Since its debut on the Net in January of 1995, CapWeb has become the starting point of choice for many Web browsers looking for information about Congress, earning recognition as "Cool Site of the Day" and receiving good reviews from other net rating systems.

Internet Volunteer, Kennedy for Senate
Northern Virginia/Boston, July - November 1994

As a volunteer working on Edward Kennedy's re-election campaign, I oversaw all efforts by the campaign to deliver the Senator's campaign message and communicate with voters via the Internet. We utilized electronic mail and mailing lists to organize volunteer efforts and distribute press releases. Campaign updates were also made available on the Net via Usenet, FTP, Gopher and on America Online. A 'virtual campaign office' was developed on the World Wide Web allowing Net browsers to learn about the campaign and locate other election related information on the Net.
