What influences are genetic or environment? Are their gender differences in early childhood development? What roles do nature and nurture provide in a child's life? In a risk free environments how can adults foster learning? In what kind of environment is learning stifled? Think about it?

Such an intriguing subject! Many people believe that genetics is the critical factor in determinig how the child turns out. Yet, others stand by the idea that the environment is the controlling factor. However, when I look at the arguments for both, new questions arise. Obviously, genetics determine the outward appearence and internal identity. However, the environment acts in certain ways toward girls and boys. Thus, strengthening the argument for nature's influence. Either way, I am left with the thought that it takes an entire village to raise a child. This is true for boys and girls alike.
