Rev. Lindsay Hardin Freeman, armed with highlighters, sticky notes, and help from several women in her Episcopal church, has crunched the numbers, and the results are in: Women speakĀ 14,056 words in the whole Bible (specifically, the New Revised Standard Version), or about 1.1% of the text. There are 93 women in the Bible total, and 49 of them even have names.
Judith is the most verbose Biblical woman: she speaksĀ 2,689 words in the process of killing Assyrian generalĀ Holofernes.
